Personalized Immunotherapy for Allergies, Autoimmune Conditions & Chronic Inflammation
Many people living with allergies, autoimmune conditions, and chronic inflammation spend years managing symptoms without finding lasting relief. At Aurora, we take a personalized approach through Low Dose Immunotherapy (LDI), an innovative treatment designed to help retrain the immune system rather than simply manage symptoms.
Every treatment plan is individualized based on your health history, symptoms, and goals because no two patients, or immune systems, are exactly alike.

Understanding Low Dose Immunotherapy (LDI)
Low Dose Immunotherapy (LDI) is a personalized form of immunotherapy designed to help support a more balanced immune response. Rather than focusing solely on symptom management, LDI works by exposing the immune system to highly diluted antigens with the goal of encouraging immune tolerance over time.
Unlike traditional allergy immunotherapy, LDI is not limited to environmental allergies and may be considered as part of an individualized treatment approach for a broader range of immune-related conditions. Treatment is administered as drops placed under the tongue, typically requires less frequent dosing than traditional allergy shots, and is tailored to each patient's unique clinical history and response to treatment.
While LDI is not FDA approved, it is an evidence-informed treatment approach offered by trained providers for carefully selected patients seeking additional options beyond conventional therapies. Treatment recommendations are individualized following a comprehensive medical evaluation.

Specialized Training in Low Dose Immunotherapy
Aurora's immunotherapy program is built on both specialized clinical training and personal experience.
Kristin completed advanced training in Low Dose Immunotherapy under the same physician who successfully treated both her family and herself. After witnessing firsthand the impact this treatment had on their lives, she pursued specialized training so she could responsibly bring this individualized approach to patients seeking additional options for complex immune-related conditions.
Because Low Dose Immunotherapy is highly individualized, Aurora emphasizes thoughtful patient selection, personalized antigen selection, conservative dosing, and ongoing follow-up throughout treatment.
Successful immunotherapy isn't simply about the treatment itself…it's about selecting the right patients, choosing the appropriate antigens, and thoughtfully adjusting treatment over time. That's the philosophy behind every immunotherapy program at Aurora.
The Aurora Approach to Immunotherapy
Successful immunotherapy is about more than simply administering treatment. It begins with understanding the whole person, developing an individualized plan, and partnering with patients throughout their care. Common questions about LDI
-
LDI is a form of immunotherapy that uses very small, highly diluted doses of antigens to help support a more balanced immune response over time. Treatment is personalized and adjusted based on how each individual responds.
-
LDI may be considered for individuals experiencing allergies and immune-related conditions, including:
Food and environmental allergies
Chemical sensitivities
Chronic inflammation
Autoimmune and immune-mediated concerns
Because each person’s immune system is unique, treatment is tailored based on a comprehensive medical evaluation.
See Treatable Conditions above.
-
LDI differs from traditional allergy treatments in both dosing and approach. It uses much lower doses and is designed to work gradually with the immune system rather than focusing only on symptom control.
In contrast to allergy shots, efficacy is not based on repetition, so many see symptomatic improvement much faster than traditional therapies. LDI is offered for a wide range of conditions and typically requires less frequent dosing, with treatment intervals adjusting as patients improve.
-
LDI is administered sublingually (under the tongue), which avoids injections. Dosing schedules are individualized, and treatment intervals may change over time depending on response and tolerance.
-
Starting Treatment: We begin with a gentle approach, choosing a low concentration of LDI to minimize any possible aggravation of symptoms.
Observing Responses: You’ll monitor how your body reacts to the treatment. If there’s no change, the dose might be too weak. If symptoms worsen temporarily, it could be too strong.
Adjusting Doses: Depending on your response, we’ll carefully adjust the dosage, seeking the optimal level for improvement without discomfort.
Ongoing Evaluation: As treatment progresses, we continually reassess and tweak dosages, aiming for long-term symptom relief.
Throughout the process, your input is crucial. By sharing detailed feedback, we can more effectively tailor the treatment to your needs.
-
LDI is considered a homeopathic form of immunotherapy and is not FDA-approved. It is based on similar immunologic principles, and treatment suitability is determined during a medical consultation.
-
LDI is not appropriate for every individual. Determining whether it may be a good fit requires a thorough medical evaluation and discussion of your health history and goals.
-
Many patients explore LDI after years of managing symptoms without lasting improvement. This approach focuses on understanding the immune response more deeply and taking a more individualized path forward toward long term improvement.

What is Low-Dose Immunotherapy (LDI)?
LDI is a form of immunotherapy that uses very small, highly diluted doses of antigens to help retrain the immune response over time. Rather than focusing solely on symptom management, LDI is designed to help the immune system respond more appropriately through a personalized and gradual approach. Treatment is individualized and adjusted based on how each person responds.
When the immune system views a food, chemical, environmental allergen, or microorganism as harmful, an immune reaction is created. In many cases, it is not the food, allergen, or microbe itself that causes symptoms, but rather the immune system's response to it. Allergies, intolerances, chronic inflammation, and even autoimmune conditions can all result from an immune system reacting inappropriately.
LDI works by exposing the immune system to highly diluted antigens associated with the substances it is reacting to. By carefully identifying the appropriate concentration, LDI seeks to communicate with immune cells in a way that promotes a more balanced response. In essence, the antigen is presented to the immune system in a manner that demonstrates it can be present without causing harm, helping to calm and ultimately shut down the inappropriate immune response driving symptoms and inflammation.
The goal is to encourage coexistence, tolerance, and acceptance rather than reactivity.
The same principle may apply to chronic inflammation and autoimmunity. The immune system may continue reacting to an infection long after it has been cleared, react to microorganisms that naturally live within the body, or remain activated by persistent infections that continue to stimulate immune activity. Regardless of the mechanism, the result is often the same: an immune system that remains in a state of unnecessary reactivity.
By helping the immune system develop tolerance to these triggers, LDI aims to reduce inflammation and restore balance.
